All Scarred Up

This is the scar on the back of my hand that I have had since I was 18 months old. (Mom still has the little bitty glove I had to wear during the months-long recovery process)
It was around the age where babies are learning to walk, and often using furniture to steady themselves...
On this particular occasion, while my mother had her back turned for a split second, the Ironing board was my choice of support...which happened to come crashing down with the Iron directly on my hand...look closely and you can see 2 perfect circles from the Steam Vents.
Babies may be babies, but there is still some instinct involved, and reportedly, I tried to push it off my hand...but was instead pushing it ON my hand...

Skin Grafting was needed, and a section of my left butt-cheek was taken as the skin sample. As I grew up, the scar from the sample has migrated from my buttocks, to my lower-back thigh.

I use this fact to my advantage, as when people want to look at it, I encourage them to touch it, because I can't feel anything on the skin's surface. (Which is a true fact, all the nerve endings were seared off and the very top layer is 100% numb. I can feel pressure in the layers beneath, but minor scratches, tickles, even sunburn...can't feel it.)
As they proceed to touch the Scar I tell 'em: "You're touching my butt!"
When they ask and I tell them where the skin graft came from, I usually get the best reactions of "EW!" you can imagine...

...although I did have ONE girl in particular giggle and slap my hand playfully...giggle again and slap it again...
